London has stepped up as a city hoping to land one of the 16 teams in the NBA’s Europe League – scheduled to begin October 2027 – so the market interest was already present.
The Athletic reported on Sunday that American technology billionaire Nikesh Arora is a name associated with a potential London franchise.
The trips across the Pond have become more frequent for both sides, as the NBA played in London for the first time in 2019.
The Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies squared off for an NBA Europe regular season game, and in less than six months, the San Antonio Spurs will play against the New Orleans Pelicans at Manchester’s Co-op Live.
