Despite many NBA fans being left wondering about the possibilities of the two hitting the golf course, Marc Stein debunked claims that the two league stars will spend some off-court time together.
On X (formerly Twitter), the NBA insider revealed that both Doncic and Flagg are enjoying their offseason on their respective home bases.
Luka Doncic, Cooper Flagg playing golf in LA not true
On Sunday, many fans on social media raised their eyebrows after an X page, MavsMuse, posted and claimed via sources that Cooper Flagg will be going to LA to play golf with Luka Doncic.
With Marc Stein already shutting down the speculation, Mavs fans can finally dismiss the idea of the two stars teeing off together.
Both Doncic and Flagg are often linked by many as the past and present cornerstones of the Dallas franchise. After dealing the Slovenian superstar to the Los Angeles Lakers last year in one of the most stunning trades in NBA history, the Mavs miraculously earned themselves a new centerpiece by picking Flagg with the No. 1 pick of last year’s NBA Draft.
Flagg lived up to the hype by securing the 2025-26 NBA Rookie of the Year award, while Doncic made the most out of his first full season in LA by leading the league last season in points per game (33.5).
Recently, it was already announced that Doncic is hosting the entire Lakers roster in Slovenia this month for an exclusive four-day minicamp.
