ESPN has found its Ryan Clark replacement on “Monday Night Football.”
The Worldwide Leader announced it has tapped Jason McCourty to take over on “Monday Night Countdown.”
Formerly of “Good Morning Football,” McCourty left NFL Network when the show relocated to the West Coast in 2024, which also led to the exit of Peter Schrager.
Schrager and McCourty both defected to ESPN in 2024, and are now seeing their roles expand after two years with the network.
McCourty has been seen on popular network television shows such as “Get Up,” “First Take,” “SportsCenter” and “NFL Live.”
Clark previously held this spot on Countdown, but was fired last month in the middle of an episode of “NFL Live.”
“Countdown” is last of Clark’s major responsibilities that will need to be filled as he joins Jason Kelce, Marcus Spears and host Scott Van Pelt on the pregame show.
“NFL Live” is already stacked with talent, including McCourty, Mina Kimes, Spears and many more regulars of the daily show.
“Monday Night Countdown” will debut on Sept. 14 this season with Broncos-Chiefs. It appears Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be active for that Week 1 clash. Mahomes opened training camp with no limitations following tearing his ACL last season.
McCourty spent 13 seasons in the NFL between four teams: Titans (2009-2016), Browns (2017), Patriots (2018-2020) and Dolphins (2021).
The New Jersey native went to high school at St. Joseph’s Regional in Montvale with his twin brother Devin McCourty, and the two attended college together at Rutgers.
